More pictures...
Seems that I've been drawing more with the tablet.
Anyway, here:

(if you click on it, it gets Bigger. teehee)
You know how as a kid you find out all about the mysterious night sky, and you marvel at how the Greeks were able to look at a set of dots and say, "that is a winged horse" or "those are angsty twins"? And then you really want to see the stars better, so you take out those binoculars that were given to you for your 9th birthday, not really realizing that binoculars are quite out of their league, and so are you, standing in some suburban lawn....
Anyways, yes. Hrm. Last night I was like, "I want to draw something that is LJ-appropriate" (re: appropriately wangsty), and this is what I came up with. I've become more cynical. And at the same time, feeling quite out of my league in terms of dealing with adults. I met someone who hasn't seen me since 7th grade. She said that I had always been good at public speaking, but not at social speaking. Which is a funny thing to say. And true.

Binoculars picture-his/her arms are wonky. The bend is too late and not appropriately foreshortened. Meh. Also, the legs... I like them, but maybe they're too "my legs"?? Plus the whole feet-turned-in thing. It totally didn't start that way, came from the legs. Alas. I do like the coloring on them, though. There's a theoretical street light behind him/her. I'm also generally pleased with the base color choice for the shirt, if not the lighting on it.
I do enjoy using the "marker", because it gives a nice sketchiness, and some layer-ness. I did use "airbush" to do the final lighting adjustments, though. (It's the technique of "color naturally, then adjust for lighting")
Bui-She was looking particularly hot on Thursday. Too bad she was facing me for a total of like, 30 seconds. :( And I'm so totally not a stalker. Really. I just like drawing people. I'm wondering if it would have worked better in Photoshop, though, where I can have brushes with varying opacity. (The reason I haven't been using Photoshop is because for that I really need the keyboard shortcuts to be any kind of efficient, whereas ArtRage is very tablet-friendly)
bloo14- You can tell it's not too important because it's only a "bloo". But yeah, sometimes I get tired of shiny chicks.
bloo15- The good thing about using the "paintbrush" is lots of blending fun. Very different way of putting on color. (With the marker, I change colors constantly, and is more of a haphazard "blotch" method. With the paint, I put on a thick layer of base, and then add the highlight color and the shadow color, and spend the rest of the time blending)

Bendy limbs are nemesis of novice drawers like myself. I constantly run into the "is this bent limb the same total length as the straight one?" problem.
No, I am not catching up on LJ when I should be writing my BA. I'm checking LJ on campus because Dana ditched her office hours and I may or may not have internet access at home, and besides I'm suppose to be working on my BA once I get home... *cough* ...yeah.
