Q&A
I realized the other day that there are many things that I often leave out of conversation because people don't ask. For example, I have had many conversations with a teacher at Fremont who lives in Palo Alto, but I've never mentioned that I currently live and have grown up in Palo Alto. (She hasn't asked)
There are other times when the question is very vague, so I would give a generalized, utterly unhelpful answer because a detailed, honest answer would take too long. An example would be "How has STEP been?"
So, for you, my dears, an open Q&A, an experiment of sorts... ask and I shall answer honestly. You can even do the whole "ooo.... I'm so mysteeeerious I shall ask anonymously" thing.* Nothing is taboo, but you have to know what to ask.
---
* although if you want to do that, better do it soon, for I shall be friend-locking this in a day or two.

What do you mean by "turn on"? Platonically speaking, I like the adrenaline of well-timed action, witty comebacks, and realistic-but-beautiful shots. And characters who are willing to look you in the eye. Eternal Sunshine, Ong Bak, etc.
I don't find movie-sex very titillating, so I rarely get sexually turned on by movies. For that, I'd just watch porn.
Why do you say I am intense?
Because you are. I mean, most people at the U of C have these great awesome brains up there, and you're no exception. People tend to dress up that brain differently, though. Nerdy or smarmy, etc. I think the thing about you is that you don't and you do at the same time? I dunno. Whenever I talk to you, I feel like there's a direct connection, because of the high degree of *focus* that happens. You communicate with every part of you: your body, your eyes, your voice, everything, which is very, well, intense. But also, I feel like when you're listening, you're fully engaged, not just listening, but also processing. With other people, mannerisms sometimes feels forced, an act, but with you, it feels genuine.
What do you think of when you draw?
Hot chicks. :D But it mostly depends. Generally along the lines of "does this look right?" "urgh, no, go that way" "okay, this is *not* what I wanted to draw, but it looks all right, too..." But these thoughts usually flow through, because when I draw I enter "the Zone." I hum when I draw. It's subconscious, and probably the closest to music I get. :)
Do you think that we can ever be happy in a place like this?
A place like what?
The earth? Depends on how we treat it.
UChicago? It's something you reconcile yourself to, and eventually find the joys of. I definitely see a yearly progression of this: 1st yr-"intense, but nifty!" 2nd yr-"I can handle this" 3rd yr-"please get me out of here" 4th yr-"this place is pretty cool"
STEP? Maybe, but I'm too lazy to try. Socializing is hard and awkward.
Being single? Depends on how self-possessed you are, and how much you crave openness and vulnerability.
Do I make you uncomfortable? If so when?
You make me uncomfortable when you talk about drugs, because I feel like I have no experience in it whatsoever, and so don't know what to say. But I'm curious about other people's experiences, so it's definitely something that I'd listen to you talk about.
Favorite book?
intellectually, Pastwatch: Redemption of Christopher Columbus
Emotionally, nothing. In high school I really liked The Last Herald Mage series by Mercedes Lackey, but now...? nothing has really spoken to me.
Favorite Death?
Neil Gaiman's
Inside of the spoon, or the outside?
inside for nose, outside for forehead
Dom or Sub?
Sub, definitely. Although open to dom-ness if with girl.
Paper or Plastic?
plastic, generally. Or a tote if I remembered. Or a backpack.
Neutral Milk Hotel or The Apples in Stereo?????
Can't answer, for I know naught of music
The chicken or the egg?
The egg, for the mutation to chicken-ness happens within.
