So here I am, sitting in the Reg in one of the first floor alcoves. Had a nice lunch at Hutch (pondered the scary chinese stirfry lady, but ended up getting unagi maki), and then came in here and read the Shady Dealer. There seems to be a big hollabaloo about the new president wanting to dilute the academic rigor and use the Common App. geez, man, what's with that? I had a very pleasant morning chatting with people on G-Talk, and I think I confused a few people in Hutch today with my presence on campus. Namely, 2 SMAC people and one half-Japanese dude?? Didn't say a word to them, but they gave me weird looks. Mwaha. Tonight promises to be good, as a group of us will be dining at Lula's Cafe and carousing about Chicago's Northside. :)
Yesterday I went to watch the Chinatown new year's parade with Kim, and then we had lunch at this cute authentic Chinese place that's down the block from the Phoenix. Then we went downtown and tried on pretty dresses at Macy's, and got a $32 maroon colored coat at NY&Co, and then drank a Long Island Iced Tea at this quiet little bar in the lower level of Macy's. That is one intense store, man. It has everything! Including Corinthian columns. I have decided that the Long Island Iced Tea is too sweet for me. I much prefer ye olde Gin & Tonic.
I am much happier here, and I can't pinpoint the reason. Is it because I finally have a break where I'm not thinking about STEP? Is it because I'm with friends that I feel comfortable with? Is it because I am in an environment that I am comfortable both studying, living, and playing in?
Anyways, I now have a choice, for it is 自由活动 until circa 6pm.
I can:
a) take a nap in the Reg
b) do some research in the Reg for my history unit
c) go downtown and watch a movie
d) go to Chinatown and get Joy Yee's.
Oh the possibilities!

Or have just-as-good Chinese cooking back home.
