The internets, it makes me happy

Today is Veteran's Day, which means no school!! Yay public holidays. So I woke up totally late (9am! woot!), and then watched a funny Chinese spoof on the Iraq War. Chinese people are funny in that dorky sort of way. And I can say that because I'm not running for Senate in Virginia. :D (good riddance).

Today is my planned Adolescent Development day, where I catch up on logs and start on the Case Study writeup. But then Jono called because he'd arrived in San Jose, so John and I went off to pick him up. We also found an Aza at the airport, and after some ramen lunch and some wandering around, Aza drove us to Santa Cruz, where the top sekrit Hackers conference is held. Much fun time was had by all.

Then on the way home, due to a series of missed exits, I ended up driving for an hour in the dark on twisty twisty mountain roads. But we survived and made it home for dinner. Yays.

And now the internet makes me happy and ready to start the Adolescent Development stuff again. Thank you, internet!

Oh, I also started reading Stardust (the version with the pretty pretty Charles Vess paintings), but after Chapter 2 I skipped to the end, so I guess that's that.

Oh, and yesterday, our TV came, so now we have a big TV! And even cooler was that my Full Metal Alchemist bootleg (51 eps in 2 DVDs, rock rock on) played! So I watched, like, 14 episodes in one setting. And my verdict remains the same: well done, but still just anime. Actually rather reminds me of Gu Long martial arts novels, where everyone seems like a facet of the same self-insert character (uber-cool and uber-angsty), all the fights are sensationalist, and there is a Mystery that will end up being horribly contrived. I think I'm officially done with FMA.

Yay Sushu funtime! :D

Have you concluded that you're not getting too old for anime, just too jaded for FMA?

That would be my thought. I mean, FMA is basically Pokemon aimed at preteens instead of eight year-olds.
