dilly-dallying and some doodles

Today is my brother's birthday, so we went to this Carnegie Foundation lunch thing at Roaring Camp or whatever it's called. Anyways, it had a steam engine from 1911 and we got to ride it through the redwood forest. It was fun, but we had to get up really early to catch the bus. It's rare to have a whole-family outing so serious like this, but it went as well as one would expect from these sorts of outings. Bro wishes he stayed home, hung out with friends, and went to the school dance. But there's always next year, right?

Dad's not getting any better, and he doesn't want to see a doctor here, so we're trying to persuade him to go to China for a while.

Last night was fun. I went to the new house, made food, graded half of the notebooks, and watched Rear Window. Or rather, finished watching Rear Window. (I'd had only 15 minutes left to watch, with Joanne in the film center, 3 years agoļ¼Ž So I ignored the first hour+, and then just watched the last bit.) Lotsa fun. The next almost-finished-but-didn't movie on my Netflix list is Dr. Strangelove. I'd gotten to the part where they figured out the Purity of Essence code but the bomber was about to drop the bomb part when watching in class in 9th grade. Need to finish!

Oh! I called Cat today to inquire about the Garden Party, and it was lotsa fun talking to the Chicago peeps who were within phone distance. I really miss them. :(. I'm thinking of going out there in February for President's Day weekend.

Finally, I took advantage of some CD-burning time to do what I've always wanted to do.... take pictures and upload some of my notebook doodles. They are to be found here and date from August to present. I've also uploaded photos of the postcards that I sent with the Garden Party posters. I did all of them in the hour between class, so they're kinda rushed, but I rather like the squirrel set.*

* Apparently Eric won the whole set by using his mad captioning skillz, and now adorn Cat/Eric's bathroom wall.

Hey! That's my paper from Research in Human Behavior she's writing! How did she get a hold of that?

Seriously, that is awesome :)
