midnight argument...

I was just talking to online friend, and we got into this big debate on Liberal Arts vs. Computer Science.

He insisted that Computer Science is more important b/c it is a) more practical, b) an act of creation, and c) not dependent on the opinions of professors. He also considered anything liberal arts to be a big waste of money, and history to be regurgitation.

Now if you compare that to my mom's view, which is, that Liberal Arts is more important b/c a)it offers a goal and content while CS is just a tool, b) society will always need liberal arts ppl. Culture and all that, and c) everyone has a liberal artsy side that they will regret not developing.

So where do you stand on this subject?

I am ever so slightly biased because I can't stand CS ^^;;, but on a general science and arts argument, both are equally important for different reasons; without both science and art, the world would not be complete, but each by itself is unbalanced.
