when life hands you a kumquat....

... you give it to Joanne, who has started a blog! Check out The Kaleidoscopic Thoughts of a Post-Modern Pirate for Joanne-ness. I've also syndicated it on LJ as [livejournal.com profile] t_kaleidoscopic.

Life seems to have given me a tomato instead of a sexy kumquat or a starchy potato, since it seems to be good, but I'm not quite sure what to do with it.
- I am now an American Citizen. Which means I have the power of the vote! Yay me. I got home at 2:30am to find Joanne waiting with a Citizenship Cake and an Aza. <3. On my request, the cake was green-tea on the inside. Joanne decorated the outside like an American flag. So I took out my little American flag that I got at the oath ceremony and waved it. :D
- I need to get a passport ASAP so that I can get a Visa to go to China on the 12th. Aaaaah! And the next available appointment at the downtown place is on June 2nd. Aaaah!

- I have a paper due Monday that I have no idea what to write. Gah
- I'm withdrawing from Japanese for the sole reason of too many absences
- I should write a Shaughnessy paper cause my presentation sucked ass. (Should ask him about it, though...?)

- I'm probably dibsing the garage for next year. Since the garage is not-a-very-large-space, I'm thinking of either employing something like this:
chair sleeper or this: futon chair

- oh! I read Will Eisner's book on comic books that I stole from Jono, and it said some stuff about author/artist collaboration that made me go "yes, you speakens der truth!" Which is both happy and sad.

busy and having fun, but not really glowy about it.

Congratulations, Sushu! I still have no idea why someone would want to be a citizen of this screwed up country, but welcome anyway! ^_^

Oh, you were welcome to say something about this country before. ^_^

Thanks, I'm glad that you enjoyed the pic! I've still got to convince you to get a BJD when you get back. ^_~

Congrats on the citizenship-ness.

First bit of bad news: your vote doesn't count. It never has and it never will.

For living in the garage punk-rock style: I suggest getting a regular futon. They make much more sense in any room, IMO, and you can get them off of Craig's list for teh uber-cheap. Like in my tiny room, I can open the futon if I need to, and there's just barely enough room for all the furniture. But when I'm studying or entertaining, I can keep it as a couch and people can fit.

The way I think about it, if the foldy-chair futon would fit when it is opened, then a regular futon would probably fit when it is closed. Of course, you'd have to take actual measurements and shit, but IMO, a folded up futon couch is more useful than a chair/tiny bed futon. Your results may vary, though...

Oh, your vote counts all right. But barely.

(you know what you got...F+. click.)

Pizza! You make pizza with tomatoes! Or possibly pizza-ade.

As an American citizen, you now have the power of the vote, and can be drafted into the Armed Forces... oh, wait, no you can't, because you're a girl. Lucky. You only have to deal with jury duty.

Sorry to hear about Japanese :(
