OMG, is my torrent actually downloading?

So yeah, my art history paper's done. It was a very good bad paper, in my opinion. It was a polemic. I used lots of narrative. I didn't reach my thesis until the bottom of the 3rd page, I did a little analysis on lots of images instead of a lot of analysis on very few images. It was "argument"-driven instead of image-driven. But dammit, I liked my paper. I liked what I talked about (ceramic mortuary ware, magical realism, and guided spontaneity in relation to foreign influence), even if it's not what she wants. What she wanted, I think was a close reading of 3 objects to talk about the cosmopolitanism as shown in mortuary ware. So in terms of what she wanted, it's a very B paper.

But mostly I'm just excited that after 4 freakin' years, I finally can recognize a bad paper from a good one. Sorta.

and after a week of not hearing back from people, I just heard back from 2 of the 3 people we're inviting for UChi-Con!!!

I've found that after four years, I'm very good at recognizing bad papers, and the moment of recognition often comes when proofing some second-year's sosc paper.

i also didn't write what she wanted but i did the opposite: too much analysis on not very many objects. mostly one mural. damn, i'm hoping for a B too. add oil la!

I never got the hang of telling my good papers from my bad ones- I thought they were all bad. I did eventually get a feel for what grade I would probably get, though. Good luck on the paper!

What's the torrent?

More importantly, what did the two people say? :)

What's UChi-Con? Why two out of three people?
What are you downloading?
Why magical realism?
How do you see a good paper from a bad one?

Good luck on the paper!
