I hate getting plane tickets

This is an argh of frustration for trying to get plane tickets that minimize cost yet fit in with my schedule. I thought red-eyes are cheaper, but nooo, not with American they're not. So now instead I'm flying there and back again in 24 hours. 7am-5:30am. I don't like ATA because it smells bad. But it's the cheapest ($300), so I guess that's that. Remind me why I didn't go to school somewhere closer? ::mutter mutter:: Stupid plane tickets.

And what's the fun of being back in Shanghai over the winter break if the family isn't coming with? Argh on that, too. Argh on my stoopid BA, too. (The Buddhist one.)

Also: is this a rush flight? Because the roundtrip from chicago to oakland on Southwest with two weeks notice costs 200-ish.

Y'know, I've never flown Southwest for some reason. May be that whenever I go to their website to look, everything insists on being either confusing or non-available. Perhaps because I usually travel during peak traveling times.

Oh well, too late now. But I'll have to fly back again some other time anyway, so there's plenty more opportunities to experiment.

I never like flying ATA to Florida to visit my paternal grandfather because they're notorius for having LONG, UNANTICIPATED delays...also, their seat cushions are old (but rainbow-colored!) and they never give me pretzels anymore... or those gourmet cookies... but mostly the delays. I recall reading almost the entire HP1 while we waited in the concourse, I'm not kidding. They ended up giving us free ATA playing cards so we could pass the time. Other than that, last time we flew, we got all the way into the plane, and then they realized a 'nut' was missing off something and made us wait like an hour before they could replace it...or maybe they decided it wasn't important enough to wait any longer for a replacement and we took off without it... I can't remember which.

You didn't go to school somewhere closer because somewhere closer was Stanford.

I like southwest.. course they be the only airline silly enough to fly between SD and San Jose
