From Monday:

Well, the stupid slides won't get done until 4pm Thursday.

But yesterday marked the end of the Chinese School summer quarter. After the testing and whatnot, went over to Pacifica and watched 2046 with eptified. I was dubious at first b/c Wang Kar Wai is known for artsy but plotless films. This one, though, was v. pretty, but not excessively so (not the lookit me! kind, just omg! kind), and had some sort of plot... maybe. At least enough to tie the pieces together and, y'know, attempt to mean something. And, like, 3 spoken languages are used, and the background music was in random other languages like Spanish.



From Today:

Dude! I like, totally woke up after noon today! That hasn't happened ... most of the year! Guess I was tired from all the running around of the weekend. But now... there's supposedly stuff to do..... I think...

2046 wasn't as good as hua1 yang4 nian2 hua2. not as pretty either. zhang man yu's qi paos, man. and the characters were much more likeable and the plot was not as messy. we'll have to watch it some time with gua zi and the like.
