mom's sick. :( I had to sub for her class, which she was subbing for, so I was a sub's sub. That amused the 2nd graders muchly. And I think I taught about 85-90% of them Chinese.... there's the few kids who just... ::sigh:: Sometimes it's frustrating, and I guess that's the challenge of being a good teacher: to get that last 15%. There was the kid who was too busy laughing over some random thing. There were to two kids who were so far behind that they didn't know 50% of the words. In the 4th grade class there were the middle(?) schoolers (well, one was born in 1990, so that makes him high school) who were smart and knew the words, but just couldn't be bothered with class. At least they knew their stuff.

Hmm... random "guilty pleasure" movies I'd like to own: Batman Begins (hot guy + cool gadgets + gratuitous action = XD), Harry Potter 3 (so pretty. And really, Harry Potter doesn't get any better than this!), Down With Love (so silly, so stylish, and Ewan so suave). And SchoolHouse Rock. Although that's not a movie, but it needs to be passed on. And good Jane Austen knockoffs like Bridget Jones' Diary (I) and Clueless. (temporarily distracted reading random essay someone wrote on Clueless). And since I'm daydreaming anyway: West Wing Season 2 + 4, and BlackAdder.

Oh yes, back to mommy. She's got high fever and looks absolutely miserable. We're guessing it's just severe flu, but many people were concerned and inquiring after her. (It's nice to know that various people care, and that my mom is important to them.

I spent most of yesterday drawing rectangles. Mostly trying to fit together a house plan and playing architect (and somewhat succeeding but mostly failing). It's really the issue of the elevator, among other things. But I feel more sensitive to how houses are laid out now, which is a good thing.

I hope your mommy feels better.

Doing, or trying to do, almost anything will give you a better idea of how to do things. I didn't notice transitions and such in movies until I made the CVP. And now I have a much better idea of how clothing is put together, though I still am nowhere near proficient *sigh*.
