More majoring angst

So... which sounds better?

Double major in East Asian Studies (with a focus on Chinese art, with honors!), and History (with a focus on international history/China as an empire)

or

Triple major in Art History (focus in Chinese art), East Asian Studies, and History (with a focus on international history/China as an empire)

I personally would prefer a well-grounded EAStudies major + History major rather than 3 shoddy majors, but maybe it sounds better?
Other things to consider:
- There's also that W in that History class from autumn quarter...
- Wu Hung is kinda famous in the art history world. (I talked to him today, and he said that he's willing to be my BA advisor in either art history or EAstudies. w00t!)
- if I'm not triple-majoring, I'd have a chance to take actual, um, classes. Instead of taking 3 paper-writing courses autumn quarter, I'd just have to take 2.

double major. triple majoring is .. overkill

I think a triple major looks like you couldn't make up your mind. Then again, it advertises your willingness to go completely over the top for questionable reasons.

(Take the option that allows you to take real classes. Paying the college full tuition for three "paper-writing courses" strikes me as wasteful.)

Can you pick up an Art H degree in grad school even if you don't get it on your BA?

Love your sanity--double major.

While it's fun to rack up crendentials on paper, I think it's most important to focus on the experience of being in college, and taking (and doing!) interesting things you may never get the chance to do again. I told myself I wouldn't pursue any certificates (like minors) if they involved taking classes I didn't want to take. So, I would say ask yourself: in what situation would you be happiest? (And I don't mean happy in the martyr-for-the-cause-of-nice-things-on-paper way.) Then do whatever that is.
