Oh man, I love Rose of Versailles so much. There's this moment last night when the word "Revolution" was first uttered, and the layers of meanings and associations on that were so delectible. First was the impending fate of the French Rev (there is no destiny boy because everything is destiny), and then the historical view of it being The Revolution (the unique one that spawned so many others), and then the Utena-type of revolution (which is both part of the "world revolution" genre, but also weird in its own way). But yes, Berubara is truly excellent. :D
