I had a dream last night where I travel down the river with Michelle to Bristol, and then bum in her dorm room where I work a day job where I smile at little kids, and then come home to read books. Then I realize that it's Jan 2 and that my quarter hasn't started, and I should really go back to school. That wakes me up, where I realize that it's Dec 30 and I have a few days before school starts again. Y'know, a quarter off doesn't sound all that unhappy. I feel very academicked out.
My parents are showing me all the nifties they've accumulated over the past quarter, including, last night, a reproduction of one of the famous scrolls of GuKaiZhi. Reading some of the inscriptions, we've re-established the fact that Emperor QianLong has an ego the size of China, and have discovered that the scroll is actually an artful imitation from the early Song dynasty. Pretty cool! Sudden sadness in not having caught sight of the Gu Kaizhi original court ladies set at the British Museum. (too bedazzled by Greece, I was). Oh, and surprise, I found a box of opened and nearly all-eaten mauna loa chocolate nut things. It's like, symbolic, or something, the fact that we're actually eating these instead of saving them on the shelf above the fridge for giving as presents at some other time. :D We have progressed through society!
My cell phone's screen seems officially dead... :(
Today, I'm making lunch for parents, and then we're having a hot-pot dinner, and I think there might be cake in there somewhere... :DD,,, And then it's off for a night with da gumi.
Oh, andI can officially drink now. How cool is that?
