1. A body of water, smaller than a river, contained within relatively narrow banks? stream
2. What's the thing you push around a grocery store? reluctant friend unwilling to coo at vegetables and cooking utensils
3. A metal container to carry a meal in? kick-ass old skool lunch box with transformers on it.
4. The thing that you cook bacon and eggs in? eggs->wok. bacon-> frying pan
5. The piece of furniture that seats three people? bed. Yo, I be poor one-room college student, man.
6. The device on the outside of the house that carries rain off the roof? duct
7. The covered area outside a house where people sit in the evening? porch, or deck, as it goes in my house
8. Carbonated, sweetened, non-alcoholic beverages? soda! NOT pop!
9. A flat, round breakfast food served with syrup? English muffin? Waffles?
10. A long sandwich designed to be a whole meal in itself? a big-ass sandwich
11. The piece of clothing worn by men at the beach? boxers pretending to be proper swim-material
12. Shoes worn for sports? those high-class Nikes with that oh-so-sporty name
13. Putting a room in order? anally organizing until I can't find anything anymore
14. A flying insect that glows in the dark? nuclear moth
15. The little insect that curls up into a ball? mini-basketball!! (okay, some of the other ones are me trying to be amusing, but this one is true. They *are* mini-basketballs. admit it!!)
16. The children's playground equipment where one kids sits on one side and goes up while the other sits on the otherside and goes down? most popular example of a lever.
17. How do you eat your pizza? depends. bite by bite from the pointy end, or chop it into little bits and use a fork. But baked, not raw.
18. What's it called when private citizens put up signs and sell their stuff? transfer of useless junk from one residence to another
19. What's the evening meal? the one with all the strained conversation between family.
20. The thing under a house where the furnace and perhaps a rec room are? foundations are under the house. basement rec rooms are just depressing.
21. An unusually heavy rain which does not last long? Bay Area spring
22. A window covering on rollers that pulls down? cheap-ass curtains
23. A new, limited access, multi-lane road? new on-ramp to screw with your head
24. Heavy garments worn for work? un-manufacturer-faded jeans
25. The area in the house where people usually sit? the place with couches and TV. (living room, family room, den, "parlor"...)
26. Paper thing you carry something home from the store in? cake-box!


And I realize only later that this is supposed to be a regional/linguistics survey type thing. Bah, I say, BAH!
