gasp! It's been a week!

Wow, I haven't updated in a long time. It's hard enough staying on top of the friends pages entries. Today, while reading up on you guys in-between scanning stuff at work (Good thing I'm not forever doomed to scanning and basic photoshop manips. Although I can be oddly content doing so), the beauty of a fast and readily available internet connection fully hit me. I need the free time to carefully read all of your entries and comment on them and laugh at my comic feeds, not the kind of panicked go online-offline type thing. And I feel like I'm betraying my home by constantly telling myself that "it's okay, you'll have dsl when you go back home". Am I so shallow as to whore out my "home" designation to the faster internet connection?

Anyway, work has been usual. Doing some scanning of articles about the project, and on Mondays and whenever people don't have misc stuff for me to do, I work on designing a liberation cirriculum. I think this is me. Designing things to be taught to high school kids. This rush of excitement runs through me whenever I start thinking about it. I just started Monday. I still worry if it's unbelievably trite or stupid. After all, I don't think I ever really went through the "teenager" phase. The pop culture slips me, I often end up overly stuffy intellectual-like....

The July 3rd fireworks were nice. Not exactly worth sitting on the Oval from 6:30-10:30, but I did get some things done. That "pet project" is currently hella ugly. I also have 2 hella ugly shaded versions of it. And I think I'll do a colored one with my Crayola ass-kicking colored pencils. But no computer. I actually did attempt, but it's gonna take too long. The way computer technology stands at the moment with me, coloring on the computer is too much hassle for what it's worth (better color selection, undo button, Hue/Saturation, layers). But anyway, it's kinda proof that I can't do what I wanted to do. But since I did promise some people that I'd show them, I'm open to poking for those interested. (poking probably involves email, given the state of the internet)

Tuesday was watercoloring class. The teacher was very unprepared because her dog was sick. She wanted to cancel class because there were only 8 people. However, a 9th person showed up, so she had to continue. After covering the materials (and blatantly favoring University Arts over Accent Arts), and showing off some of her stuff, there wasn't anything to say, so the 3 hour class was actually an hour or so. urg. Hopefully I'll learn *something* in the next four weeks. Tonight is the other painting class. I haven't gotten any mail about having to bring supplies, but given that they didn't mail me last time either, the Art Center is just kinda messed up.

I saw Whale Rider on Sunday with my brother and mom. It was pretty good. Moving without being too sappy. Angsty. A touch of mythicism or whatever you call it. The fantasy realism type thing of "Como Agua Para Chocolate", but just a bit.

I've been watching a lot of the Alias tapes that Jess lent me. ::chugging through them:: Almost done with the first season!! It will be a relief when I finish them, though, because then I can stop obssessing and go onto the other things that I've been ignoring for the past week.

Umm.... what else? I miss people. I miss being able to comment LJ and write LJ in large chunks every day. I miss talking to people in real life. I think part of it was that all last year I've been in a dorm environment where it's impossible to not talk to peers. And now I'm back to my reclusive family. I mean, my brother is always around he's awesome, and the KPP (King Papers Project) people are nice but .... well, Saturday, folks! What are the planses?

Busy a bit? ^_~
Don't miss people. Go randomly talk to your neighbors ^^ Sometimes walls are good listeners if you need to vent. Just make sure nobody else is around.
