Can't think.

Erg... This is too much. I can't handle this Philosopher of the Week thing. Or rather, Philosopher of the Day. The beginning of the quarter wasn't too bad, A week of Hobbes, a week of Locke, a week of Rousseau, a week of Mill, and then 2 weeks of Nicky. I mean, a week to get the hang of their writing style and absorb what they're trying to say and their explanation for everything.... not that bad. But now.... I just read Weber and couldn't absorb any of it. Maybe I need to read this in the morning, but I don't have time in the morning. Or maybe I'm still hung up from the Schmitt discussion *yesterday*. I think it would be easier if we were reading things that explained these people to us, but we're reading the original stuff. (Which is what I like about the Soc Core). But I think I've reached my political thinker quota for the quarter. 11 intense thinkers in 9 weeks is just not a good idea. I have a Nicky/Mill paper due Friday, so they're still pacing about in my head. Locke and Hobbes and Rousseau are camping out in the back talking about bees and lions, Schmitt is still in the process of being absorbed, and I just read Weber. What did I read? I have no idea. Something about ethics of intention and ethics of responsibility and how the political leader needs it, because he has to make good intentions with the goal in mind and drive the masses responsibly or something. With random digressions into the stupidity of Christianity and whatnot. It's just not tying together. It took me so long to read so little. And Hobbes, would you just stop talking about the naturall State of Warre between Sovereignes! No, don't you get started on that, too, Schmitt. And we're not stupid! There's nothing wrong with ethical economics!

Calm down, Sushu. Shut up, Mill. Thank you.

In other news, West Wing was cool today. And Saddam is far more eloquent than our fearless leader.

I think I'm concentrating either in Sociology, History, or Political Science. But I'm taking MicroEcon next quarter just to try out Econ.

Thinking of taking a web programming class this summer. Wonder how to find out about Foothill classes.

Foothill website (http://www.foothill.fhda.edu/ (http://www.foothill.fhda.edu/)) is how you check out summer classes.

Cut yourself a little slack-- it's clear you're working very hard; it's totally understandable that 10 million different philosophies wouldn't be easy to absorb in 11 weeks. Especially if they spell like Hobbes (yeesh). You're a good student and a smart person... you can get through it! :-) (wow, that sounded like an inspirational greeting card or something. sorry about that. but the point remains-- I have faith in you!
