Alternatives to movie-watching.

Instead of watching movies, I'm supposed to read the Chinese family health care book. Hmm... Well, for the record, I do feel a little movied-out, especially since the ones I watched this weekend were really good. However, since the purpose of movies is break from work, and also serve as an incentive for me to get my work done, I don't think the Chinese family health care book can adequately take its place.

Right now it's:
"ooo! gotta get my hum reading done now so that I can go watch Igby Goes Down!" (which is wonderfully brilliant in a non-commentable way. Kinda like what happened with Spirited Away.)
<2 hours later>
"yay! warmth! okay, back to work!"

But with the Chinese family health care book, it'd be:
"urg, I don't want to do work yet. I have time. Maybe I'll go online!"
"okay! done with my hum! umm.. break!"
<5 minutes later>
"cannot comprehend. but too tired to start work again. Maybe I'll go online!"

Yes. However, since I'm rather movied-out at the moment, so I *am* willing to consider non-movie alternatives of hw breaks. Requirement is that they need to be relaxing, rejuvenating, and stoppable once started. That rules out internet (which isn't stoppable), writing fanfiction (which isn't relaxing), reading casual books (which isn't stoppable, well, until I finish the book. plus it's expensive, as there's no casual-book library around).
I'm actually contemplating drawing (which isn't exactly stoppable, but does get done in about an hour or two. I tried last night. 11pm-12:20am). But I'm not sure if my parents would approve of that sort of unproductivity.
Writing fanfiction and making webpages, while not exactly relaxing, can be thought of as a change of pace.

Hmmm..... any ideas?

Dreaming (Not productive though, and sometimes unstoppable)

Sleeping (Unstoppable, and ususally just screws up sleep cycle if you have an alarm)

Small things you need to do later anyway.
- Brush teeth... (heh)
- make some food
- Make Tea

But these don't take up much time.

maybe run around outside? Too Cold? Not very relaxing I suppose. I know I'm too lazy to do that. Though if you go somewhere with the running/biking/skateboarding it's easier. Like when I go do research at the library I always try to skateboard because it's fun and takes time, but is not as tiring as running.

But it's Cold in Chicago...

I don't know Sushu, I don't know.

casual books are good for you. no public libraries around? aww.. hmm, read scanslations, those are free and are quicker to read!

sleep: bad idea

making food and cleaning are good tho.. nothing like nobrain activites!

um.. do something incredibly useless like folding cranes or making paper airplanes ^_^v

day dream: good for sanity, generally

ah well can't think of much else (watches carrie's creativity go down the toilet) ^_^
