reports.

well, since I reported on yesterday's classes, only fair to do so for today's classes. First of all, can I say that I just love our Soc department? Devin Pendas will be our prof for the next 2 quarters, and I have a feeling he'll be teaching us more about college writing than my hum class. Our new room is weird, we don't feel so close to each other at the giant oval table. He's also a lot more blackboard-scribbly, which helps with notetaking. Wonderful teacher, and it's fun just listening to him talk. ("Sometimes I'm a liberal, sometimes I'm a conservative, and sometimes I'm just a raging communist, especially after a few drinks.... then what's yours is mine and what's mine is mine and the world's a better place!) It will be a hard but fun class.
On the other hand. Hum is hum is hum. Same prof, same everything.

Books are expensive. Here's the spending so far: (and only the 3rd day here!)
Bio book: $135
Hum + Soc + Ling books: $205
Chinese Art History book: $85
CTA card: $10. (good for about 3 roundtrips)

Anticipated savings:
Ordered Chinese book from Amazon for $55. When return Art history book, will save $30!
Ordered one Ling book from Amazon for $31. When return book, will save $10!
When sell back Bio book at end of 2 quarters, will save $60!
Even though it seems like I'm spending extra money ($86 dollars extra), I'm hoping to save $40. Wait and Hope!

Anticipated spending:
$24 for quarter movie pass.
$20? in Chinatown.

I have discovered why everyone studies in the Reg. (the library). It's b/c when ppl aren't studying, they're partying. like drunkenness at 10:30 last night. o.o;;
