Loo dee loo.... done with hw for Tuesday and most of hum hw for Thursday... deem self worthy to go online. huzzah!

Now that Adam Smith is done, I get to gripe about Marx. Have read the 1844 Manuscripts. He has very convoluted and limited world view, but poses some interesting ideas. Icky vocab, though.

Watched 2 movies this weekend: "Y Tu Mama Tambien", and "Insomnia".
Y Tu Mama Tambien was an awesome movie in spite of the porn. The porn even fit into the general attitude of the movie, as in, they weren't just having sex to make the audience go "ewww", but there's reasons, etc. It talks a lot about the transience of life, about change, about growing up, confronting the real world, about the fragility and tenacity of friendships, and how some things should never be said, but once they're said, they're said. The two friends became so connected and accepting that the only way to go was to break apart... there was no need for anything more, and they have both grown up.... It also presented a fragmented and multifaceted view of Mexico, from lives of presidents to lives of construction workers crossing the road. It's about life, about independence, humanity's fragility and strength... In a nutshell, it is an awesome movie, and I'm still thinking about it.
Insomnia wasn't that great. It was too action oriented, and there are moments where I'm supposed to feel tension, but it's not conveyed across the screen. I dunno, I think they could have done more with the story. I think a lot of stuff weren't clearly presented and developed.
