Wow, that was awesome. I love my house. This guy started playing on the piano, and pretty soon we had 2 guitars, 2 electric guitars, a drummer on a turned over trash can, and an electric piano, just jamming away in the house lounge. And these are the people who went to astronomy camp, or want to double major in public policy and polisci. One of them would play a riff and the others would just pick it up, and do all these mutations... it's something that's alive, always changing but always together. *This* is what I want to do on an instrument. This interaction and improvisation is what American music is all about. What Americans are all about. If someone said I'd be able to do this if I practice on my piano for 10 years, I might have stuck with it. Chinese learn piano to do solo pieces, not this kind of improv like this. And they're still going. But I need to go to sleep now because I have class tomorrow.
