summercomfort | (no subject)

okay, the dorm social thing went okay. met some people from the other houses (we have 4 in Pierce: Tufts, Henderson, Thompson, Shorey, and each house has 60-65 people, with 40-50 being freshmen.) Finally met a "chinese" girl! Well, you know what I mean, someone who knows Chinese, and is willing to talk about stuff like that. She brought a hot pot, so I'm invited to go up for noodles some time. She moved to Arizona from Beijing when she was 10, and more Chinese than American. There were also some girls from Thompson who were really nice. Laura and Lisa from Paly are also at Pierce. umm... yay? They say hi to me, and are nice, so yay. But I have learned that it's hard for me to hang out with people who have too much to say and little time to listen to others. Or maybe my mind just work slower, or that I'm more passive. I like the groups that stand around for 3 minutes without really talking, but launch into interesting conversation when we actually do say something. Well, at least what I think is interesting. Jeez, so new to this socializing thing. I mean... talking? to other people? Most people went off to a party at Max Palevsky, so it's just me upstairs, hugging my computer. (woo.... massive nerdiness attack...)
